It is a sad fact that 30,000 men are diagnosed every year in this country with prostate cancer and over 10,000 die from the disease, equal to the number of deaths in women from breast cancer. But prostate cancer research receives only 25% of the funding spent on research into breast cancer in women. There is a diagnostic test available to screen for prostate cancer but currently only 8% of men request this potentially life-saving test.
To help raise much needed funds for equipment and prostate cancer treatment, Wroxham Bure Valley Rotary Club organise an annual sponsored walk for the whole family along the Bure Valley Railway footpath. The next walk for the Future will take place on Saturday 3rd October 2009. To register, click here or if you would like more information by getting in touch with us click here.
